From 2009 to 2014, Ron Meason pursued specialized landscape and design projects as a self-employed contractor.
He performed a variety of diverse jobs independently during his time as a self-employed landscaper, including:
- Mulching, aerating, grubbing, weeding, and removing patches in order to tend carefully to grassy areas and lawns
- Executing proper trimming and edging around garden beds, walkways, and all areas
- Combining and administering herbicides, insecticides, and standard fertilizers on grass, trees, and shrubs to treat damage or sustain lawn health
- Using strong mowers and edging tools to mow and edge lawns efficiently
- Planting seeds, trees, foliage, plants, bulbs, bushes, and ground coverings
- Spreading mulch to protect freshly planted areas
- Connecting wires from positioned trees to proper support beams
- Embellishing gardens with appropriate decor according to client requests
- Adhering to structured designs to identify where to spread sod, grass, and other plant materials
- Collecting and removing debris and any accumulated litter from gardens and lawns on a routine basis
- Spreading straw or topsoil on areas of seeded soil to secure positioning and ensure growth
- Executing seasonal irrigation processes in preparation for each season
- Designing and fostering healthy lawns and gardens
- Carefully pruning and trimming trees, shrubs, and hedges.
- Raking and composting leaves
- Preparing and cleaning flower beds regularly
- Watering lawns, trees, and plants, with a variety of watering tools
- Advising clients regarding plant selection and routine maintenance
- Tending to natural turf fields and ensuring the base soil has the necessary foundation to enable drainage procedures and cultivation of healthy grasses
